The Cape Town-founded company now handles calls in the same place as WhatsApp, email, web chat and Messenger. Calls are answered by people; its AI agents stay on digital channels.

Cue, the AI customer service platform backed by Knife Capital and FAM Investments, has launched Phone, letting businesses take and make calls inside the platform they already use for WhatsApp, email, web chat and Facebook Messenger. The company says it is the first of the product priorities it named when it raised $5 million in July: voice, AI, security and integrations.
What Phone does
Phone covers UK and South African numbers at launch, with keypad menus, business-hours routing, hold, and warm and cold transfers between colleagues, plus agent-led outbound calls. It is available on all plans from 20 October.
Traction
Cue says it works with more than 500 companies, handles more than 500 million conversations a year and grew annual recurring revenue by 160 percent in its latest financial year. The figures are the company's own.
People on calls, AI on digital channels
Calls are answered by people. On digital channels, Cue's AI agents answer from a knowledge base and hand over to a human team when needed. The company says a next generation designed to take actions across connected systems, such as checking an order status or booking an appointment, is expected in early 2027.
"Businesses shouldn't need a different system, supplier and bill for every way a customer gets in touch," said Richard Nischk, Cue's chief executive. "Phone is the first major step since the raise."
Founded in Cape Town, Cue now has offices in London and Cape Town. Its $5 million round, co-led by Knife Capital and FAM Investments, was announced on 14 July 2026.
