Understanding the ecosystem
Nigerian startups raised $326 million between July and September 2026, 46% of all the money announced across Africa in the quarter and their strongest quarter since early 2022. One deal did most of the work: Moove's $250 million Series C, led by Mubadala, which was 35% of the continent's total on its own. Without it, Nigerian startups raised about $76 million from 30 deals, in line with the first quarter of the year and ahead of the second.
The money sits in a few sectors. Fintech leads, with Yellow Card's $40 million round in August; deeptech follows after Terra Industries added $18 million to its seed funding; and transport, energy and agriculture take most of the rest. Our Q3 report has the full picture.
What does this page cover?
Companies match the country recorded on their Propel profile. Country does not imply incorporation, founder nationality or every market served. Counts include the financing types recorded by Propel, including equity, debt and grants. Unknown amounts are not zero. Dates retain their recorded precision. This is not a complete market census.
Listings follow Propel’s current public records. The dated context is editorial background, not a live market total. Secondary share sales are excluded from recorded funding here. Named backers are recorded participants; their inclusion does not identify them as the lead investor.
