ZSystems, a Morocco-based retail marketplace, has raised a $1.65 million Seed round, taking its total funding to $2.7 million, Wamda reported on 6 April. Azur Innovation Management led the round. MNF Ventures and WitaMax returned as follow-on investors, and Harambeans Prosperity Fund joined as a new investor. Wamda describes Harambeans as the company's first international institutional investor. Earlier pre-seed backers also included CASHPLUS Ventures and Kalys Ventures.
What ZSystems does
The company runs a B2B2C digital platform that connects brands, wholesalers and retailers. It aims to add transparency, streamline operations and open new growth for those parties. ZSystems says it targets a market of roughly $40 billion that is still largely offline. It was founded in 2022 by Samer Choumar, Meriem Benabad, Youssef Haddouch, Reda Nebri and Youssef Drafate.
Support and plans
The company has received support from the EBRD's Star Venture programme and from Amazon Web Services. The new funding will go to product development, platform expansion and market penetration, in Morocco and the wider region.
