Talk360, the international calling app, has raised $1.4 million in a secondary investment, Disrupt Africa reported on 12 February. Havaic led the round and has been Talk360's lead investor since 2022. Universum Wealth supported the transaction and is a limited partner in Havaic's $50 million African Innovation Fund 3.
What Talk360 does
Talk360 is a calling app that offers affordable international calls to mobile and landline numbers. It also runs Shop360, which lets users send airtime, data bundles and top-ups abroad. Shop360 reaches more than 180 countries. Disrupt Africa describes Talk360 as Africa's leading international calling app and says it connected more than four million people in 2023.
People and earlier rounds
Dean Hiine, a South African venture builder, co-founded the company in 2016 with the Dutch entrepreneurs Hans Osnabrugge and Jorne Schamp. Osnabrugge is chief executive. Talk360 has offices in South Africa, the Netherlands, India and Nigeria. Previous funding was a $1.4 million pre-Series A in September 2023 and a $7 million seed round in 2022.
Plans
The money will go towards further improvements to the user experience, continued development of Shop360 and broader platform expansion. Osnabrugge said: "We are grateful for the continued conviction and support of HAVAÍC and Universum Wealth."
