Pozi has raised €650,000, about $690,000, in a round announced on Friday 3 October, Ecofin Agency reported on 5 October. Saviu Ventures led the round, with Emsy Capital participating and advisory firm Chazai Wamba also taking part. Ecofin Agency calls it the first known foreign venture capital investment in a Gabonese tech startup.
What Pozi does
The company works in telematics and fleet management. It uses AI-driven data analysis to predict breakdowns, cut operating costs and improve road safety. Pozi was founded in Libreville in 2020, and Loïc Kapitho is co-founder and chief executive. Its clients range from national operators to multinational corporations.
Traction and targets
Pozi has connected more than 2,500 vehicles. The goal is to connect 35,000 vehicles across 10 African countries by 2030. Gabon is its current market, and it plans to enter Côte d'Ivoire as the first step of its growth strategy. Central Africa attracted about $5 million in venture funding in 2024, roughly 0.2% of the continent's total, according to Partech Africa figures cited by Ecofin Agency. "It shows that Gabonese startups can win the trust of international investors," said Loïc Kapitho, co-founder and chief executive of Pozi.
