NjiaPay, a South African payment management startup, has raised a $2.1 million Seed round led by Newion, TechCabal reported on 9 March. Newion is a European investor known for backing business software companies. The startup had earlier raised $1 million in January 2025.

One integration for many providers

NjiaPay lets online businesses manage payments in one place through a single integration with many providers and payment methods. It offers checkout for cards, mobile money and bank transfers. The platform sends each transaction to the provider most likely to succeed, retries or blocks risky payments, and gives merchants a unified dashboard for reconciliation.

Origins and customers

The company was founded in 2024 by Jonatan Allback, who is CEO, and Roderick Simons. It was spun out of the international calling app Talk360, after its founders struggled to manage several payment systems. Customers include Talk360, Anytime Fitness and Melon Mobile. Talk360 cut six payment integrations down to one and saw a 25% rise in checkout conversions in key markets. Hans Osnabrugge, CEO of Talk360, said: "NjiaPay has allowed us to focus on growth instead of managing payment providers."

Plans

NjiaPay will use the funding to grow the business and move into more African markets. It also plans to launch Card Account Updater, which automatically refreshes stored card details to prevent failed subscription payments.
