Lucky, an Egypt-based consumer credit platform, has raised $23 million in a Series B round that combines equity and debt, Wamda reported on 7 April. Participants include Disruptech Ventures, Development Partners International (DPI) through its Nclude fund, Suez Canal Bank and OneStop Holding. The bank and OneStop are described as new strategic participants. Tech investor Mohamed Farouk has been appointed Chairman of the Board.

What Lucky does

Lucky offers cashback, instalments and flexible financing to consumers. Ayman Essawy founded the company in 2019 and serves as CEO. It works with merchants and financial institutions and reports a rapidly growing user base across Egypt.

Recent performance

The company says it grew threefold in 2025 and reached profitability by the end of that year.

What the money is for

Lucky plans to scale its credit offering, expand into select North African markets and strengthen its infrastructure, licensing and regulatory readiness. It is working towards a neo-banking-ready platform and has begun work on a payment service provider licence. "Financial access is the foundation of progress," said Ayman Essawy, CEO of Lucky.
