Innovation Village reported on 4 November that FroggyTalk has secured a seed round of 300,000 euros. The SI3 Fund of Belgium-based impact investor Shaping Impact Group led the round, represented by partner Dave Dirks.

What the company does

FroggyTalk is a communication app for Africans living abroad. It offers low-cost, high-quality international calls and a Radio Hub that streams African FM stations. The company was founded in June 2023 and is based in The Hague, in the Netherlands. Oluseyi Akinnibosun is founder and CEO, and Henry Onyezi is co-founder and CTO. It joined the We Are Changemakers incubator in November 2024 and has had support from the Dutch New Narrative Lab.

Traction and plans

The Radio Hub has logged more than 3.6 million listening minutes. The company plans to use the funding to scale its infrastructure with AI, improve user experience and call quality, and personalise the product. It also intends to build localised tools for documentation, country-specific services and support networks. Oluseyi Akinnibosun, founder and chief executive, said: "This investment is wind in our sails."
