EV.Tech has secured a strategic investment from Enko Capital to expand its electric vehicle charging network in Côte d'Ivoire, WeeTracker reported on 27 September. The amount was not disclosed. The deal is structured as a hybrid financing package.

Charging for a growing market

Founded by Florent Thomas and Esther Dagri, EV.Tech describes itself as the first local company in Côte d'Ivoire to focus exclusively on EV charging. It already runs a nationwide network of 70 charging stations, giving drivers places to charge across the country.

The new funding will expand that network and strengthen the company's operations as electric vehicle adoption grows in the country.

Enko's francophone strategy

The investment comes from Enko Capital's Francophone West Africa SME Strategy, structured as a Fonds Commun de Placement à Risques (FCPR), a French-law venture fund vehicle. EV.Tech is the strategy's second investment, following Burger King Côte d'Ivoire.
