Electric Transits Africa has secured a €600,000 loan, about $650,000, TechMoran reported on 19 May. The debt financing comes through the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF) from Invest International, a Dutch development finance firm. Erik Pentinga, an investment manager at Invest International, commented on the deal.
What the company does
Electric Transits Africa, known as ETA, leases electric vehicles under an EV-as-a-Service model. The package includes financing, maintenance, insurance and charging access, and it is aimed at businesses moving away from combustion engines. Wout van Blommestein and Dennis Kant are the co-founders. TechMoran describes the company as Dutch-Kenyan.
Traction and plans
ETA launched its first vehicles and charging sites after an earlier funding round in May 2025. It now serves commercial clients in tourism, logistics and security. The loan will pay for more vehicles in the leasing fleet and for public fast-charging infrastructure. Van Blommestein said: "Electric mobility in Kenya has moved beyond the pilot phase". Kant said the company plans to raise more capital in the coming months, and it intends to expand across East Africa.
