NoorNation, a Cairo-based solar and water startup, has closed a $1.05 million seed round. The round is backed by agribusiness group Linah Farms, Africa-focused climate technology investor Catalyst Fund and Saudi venture capital firm KBW Ventures, Enterprise reported on 28 October.

Linah Farms signed on after nine months of due diligence, turning one of NoorNation's biggest clients into a shareholder. Founder and chief executive Ragy Ramadan announced the round at an event on 26 October.

NoorNation builds solar power and water systems, including solar irrigation for farms. The company has not said how much of the round each investor provided.
