Daya has raised $2.4 million in a Pre-Seed round led by Hivemind Capital, WeeTracker reported on 24 June. Lattice Fund, Alliance DAO, Globelink Investment and the Aptos Foundation also took part.
What Daya is building
Daya describes itself as a financial operating layer that helps African businesses manage cross-border payments more efficiently. Users collect money in local currencies, convert it using stablecoin rails and settle globally. The target customers are businesses, freelancers and companies that regularly make international payments or pay suppliers across borders.
Founders and plans
Aleph Lasebikan and Paul Joe founded Daya in 2025. Their backgrounds include Microsoft, Circle and YC-backed Helicarrier. The funding will go into building infrastructure to cut the cost, complexity and friction of moving money across African and global markets.
