CreditChek has raised $600,000 in a round led by Janngo Capital, TechCabal reported on 9 June. Assembly Investors returned as an existing investor, while Vastly Valuable Ventures and Unipeg Capital are new. Baobab Network is also named as a backer.

What CreditChek does

The Nigerian company provides credit data infrastructure and financial intelligence to banks, fintechs and microfinance institutions. Its Credit Insight product gives cross-border credit history, and Income Insight uses AI to analyse bank statements for income and cash flow. Kingsley Ibe and Lionel Orishane launched it in 2022, and Ibe is co-founder and chief executive. Pricing is pay as you go, with a fixed fee for access.

Results and plans

In 2025 CreditChek processed over $60 million in credit applications across one million unique customer profiles, and it reports being profitable in Nigeria. It claims loans underwritten with its data show over 75% lower delinquency than traditional underwriting. The new funds will scale infrastructure and partnerships in East Africa, with launches planned in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, its first markets outside Nigeria. Ibe said: "We're building the data infrastructure that allows lenders to access richer, more reliable insights".
