CarePoint has secured a $3 million debt loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), under its Private Sector Investment Finance scheme. Launch Base Africa reported the deal on 8 December 2025.

What CarePoint does

The Accra-based company, formerly called Africa Health Holdings, runs a hybrid "phygital" healthcare model. It acquires struggling brick-and-mortar clinics and adds its MyCareMobile technology platform. It is also rolling out small tech-enabled micro-clinics, each with about 12 staff, where patients consult doctors remotely. Dr Sangu Delle is founder and chief executive.

Backers and track record

Kepple Africa Ventures and M3, Inc., a Sony-backed medical professional platform, are capital partners. TRB Advisors, Breyer Capital and Beyond Capital Ventures are named as key backers. Total backing exceeds $33 million, including a $10 million bridge round in 2022 and an $18 million Series A. CarePoint has also been flagged under the G7 2X Challenge for its high share of women in management and staff.

Plans

The loan will help upgrade existing hospitals and clinics in Ghana and Nigeria, enter the Egyptian hospital sector and roll out micro-clinics where patients see doctors remotely.
