Breaze Delivery has raised R20 million, about $1.23 million, from the Vumela Enterprise Development Fund, Africa Private Equity News reported on 4 June. The Vumela Fund was established by FNB Business Banking and is managed by Edge Growth.

What Breaze does

Breaze provides customised, on-demand and same-day delivery for small and medium businesses. It uses flexible drivers and live tracking, and positions itself as a quick-commerce partner for retailers and brands. Avi Maja and Braden Snyman founded the company in 2021. It operates in South Africa and plans broader geographic growth.

How the money will be used

The investment will go towards scaling the technology platform, extending the driver network and expanding geographically to meet demand from SME customers and retail partners. Mike Sage, head of investment capital at FNB and a Vumela trustee, said: "Breaze represents the type of scalable, technology-driven business". Jessica Blake, an associate principal at Edge Growth, also features in the announcement.
