Ades has raised 350 million CFA francs, about $620,000, in equity funding, WeeTracker reported on 16 October. The only investor named is Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations de Côte d’Ivoire Capital (CDC-CI Capital), the investment arm of Côte d'Ivoire's Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations.

What Ades does

The company runs UMED, a digital platform offering online consultations, imaging services, home visits and remote monitoring for chronic patients. Ades was founded in 2019 by a group of young doctors. It is based in Abidjan.

Traction

Ades has delivered more than 6,000 home-care treatments and has partnerships with over 50 companies for corporate health services. Its home care in urban areas is served by ambulances and motorbikes, and its market is Côte d'Ivoire.

Use of funds

The money will be used for platform upgrades, modernising biomedical equipment and expanding the medical vehicle fleet. WeeTracker adds that CDC-CI Capital previously invested $1.3 million in fintech Djamo, and that the government is backing local tech startups in healthcare and fintech.
