Investors backing Nigerian startups
Every investor on this page has backed at least one Nigerian startup in a round recorded on Propel. Local and international firms appear together, ordered by how many Nigerian rounds they have joined, with headquarters shown separately. A past investment is a matter of record, not a sign of current appetite.

Understanding the investor landscape
The most frequent backers of Nigerian startups are accelerators and programmes rather than venture funds. Techstars and Y Combinator top the list by number of rounds, and in the third quarter of 2026 the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship, run by Co-Creation Hub, named twelve Nigerian startups in a single cohort, each eligible for up to $100,000 in equity-free funding.
The largest cheques come from a different group. Moove's $250 million Series C in August 2026 was led by Mubadala of Abu Dhabi, with Woven Capital and Ion Pacific among the backers, and Yellow Card's $40 million round drew SC Ventures, Sony Innovation Fund and Polychain. That split, many hands at the start and a few large ones at the top, is the shape of Nigerian venture in 2026.
What does this page cover?
Investors qualify through a recorded round involving a Nigerian startup; their headquarters can be anywhere. Counts are distinct rounds, not investment amounts. Historical participation does not establish current appetite. Counts include the financing types recorded by Propel, including equity, debt and grants. Unknown amounts are not zero. Dates retain their recorded precision. This is not a complete market census.
Listings follow Propel’s current public records. The dated context is editorial background, not a live market total. Secondary share sales are excluded from recorded funding here. Named backers are recorded participants; their inclusion does not identify them as the lead investor.
