Startups in Ghana

Ghana is the fifth-largest startup market in Propel's records, after Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt and Kenya, and the one most often paired with Nigeria by investors building a West African portfolio. This page lists the Ghanaian companies we record, most recently funded first, with every round traced to its source.

Understanding the ecosystem

Ghana's rounds are mostly early and mostly small, and the investors behind them are often programmes rather than funds. Village Capital made five early-stage investments in Ghana and Nigeria in the third quarter of 2026, one of the most active names in our records for the period, and accelerator cohorts account for many of the country's first-time raisers.

Agriculture, fintech and health make up most of the Ghanaian companies we record. Several have a US or other offshore holding company: Complete Farmer, for example, has a parent incorporated in Delaware, which matters when reading where a round was raised. Our guide explains the flip and the reverse flip.

What does this page cover?

Companies match the country recorded on their Propel profile. Country does not imply incorporation, founder nationality or every market served. Counts include the financing types recorded by Propel, including equity, debt and grants. Unknown amounts are not zero. Dates retain their recorded precision. This is not a complete market census.

Listings follow Propel’s current public records. The dated context is editorial background, not a live market total. Secondary share sales are excluded from recorded funding here. Named backers are recorded participants; their inclusion does not identify them as the lead investor.
